ZIGURAT and Plannerly partner to strengthen BIM education for buildings and infrastructure
Categories
ZIGURAT becomes a Plannerly authorised training centre. The agreement will give students on its BIM master’s programmes in Spanish, English and Portuguese access to full licences throughout their studies, alongside joint certificates upon completion of the platform’s foundation courses.
ZIGURAT Institute of Technology and Plannerly have signed an institutional partnership agreement to enhance education in BIM for buildings and infrastructure. Formalised on 26 October 2026, the partnership recognises ZIGURAT as a Plannerly Authorized Training Center, an authorised provider of training in the BIM management platform.
The benefits will be available to students on the master’s programmes covered by the agreement from the November 2026 intake onwards, across the Spanish, English and Portuguese editions.
What is Plannerly, and how does it support BIM project management?
Plannerly is a BIM management platform that helps architecture, engineering and construction teams plan, coordinate and monitor project information. It enables users to develop BIM execution plans - BEPs - define information requirements, assign responsibilities and organise deliverables through processes aligned with the ISO 19650 series of standards.
Its contribution to the industry lies in supporting shared planning: establishing what information needs to be produced, who is responsible for delivering it and when it is required. This helps project participants coordinate their work and track delivery against agreed requirements.
For professionals training to become BIM Managers, familiarity with these tools helps build an understanding of how information is structured and controlled on building and civil engineering projects.
Plannerly licences and joint certificates for students
The partnership provides two direct benefits for students:
Full Plannerly licences throughout their master’s programme. Students will have access to the platform for the duration of their programme, allowing them to explore its features and applications in BIM management.
Joint certificates from Plannerly and ZIGURAT. Students who complete the Level 1 BIM Basics and Level 2 Advanced BIM foundation courses will receive the corresponding certificates bearing both organisations’ logos.
These resources broaden learning opportunities and connect the knowledge gained during the master’s programme with tools used in professional practice. The joint certificates will recognise completion of Plannerly’s foundation courses.
BIM master’s programmes covered by the partnership
The agreement will benefit students across the two programme pathways within ZIGURAT’s BIM Management category, available in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
BIM Management master’s programmes for building projects
Focused on BIM management for building projects, the programmes included are:
English: Master’s in Global BIM Management.
Spanish: Máster en BIM Management.
Portuguese: Master em BIM Management.
BIM master’s programmes in civil engineering, infrastructure and GIS
The partnership also covers programmes specialising in the application of BIM to civil engineering and its integration with geographic information systems - GIS:
English: Master’s in BIM for Civil Engineering and GIS.
Spanish: Máster BIM en Ingeniería Civil y GIS.
Portuguese: Master em BIM para Engenharia Civil, Infraestruturas e GIS.
The partnership therefore has an international reach, bringing Plannerly’s resources to professionals preparing to manage building and infrastructure projects across different markets.
ZIGURAT strengthens its links with the construction technology sector
Recognition as a Plannerly authorised training centre strengthens ZIGURAT’s relationship with companies developing technology for the architecture, engineering and construction industry.
Through this partnership, ZIGURAT expands the resources available on its BIM master’s programmes and reinforces an approach to education grounded in professional practice: coordinating teams, defining responsibilities and managing information throughout a project.
