Best BIM Master's: ZIGURAT retains No. 1 spot in EL MUNDO's 2026 ranking

For the second consecutive year, ZIGURAT Institute of Technology has secured first place in Architecture and second place in Energy in EL MUNDO's ranking of the best online master's programmes. The Master en BIM Management, directed by Óscar Liébana (the Spanish version of the Master’s in Global BIM Management), has taken first place in the Architecture category, while the Máster en Climatización (HVAC) con Eficiencia Energética, led by Diego Besada Radío and Juan Manuel Rodríguez González, (the Spanish version of the Master’s in HVAC Systems with Energy Efficiency) has once again ranked second in the Energy category.

ZIGURAT has therefore retained the first and second positions already achieved by both programmes last year, consolidating its presence among the programmes recognised by the Spanish newspaper.

EL MUNDO's ranking is a widely recognised and highly prestigious benchmark in both Spain and Latin America. Achieving the same results for a second consecutive year is a recognition of the academic strength of ZIGURAT’s programmes and their ability to respond to the current needs of professionals across the sector.

“Reaching first place is important, but maintaining that position requires us to keep evolving. This result encourages us to continue improving our programmes by incorporating new methodologies, technologies and knowledge that enable our students to address the challenges of an industry in constant transformation. It is a recognition we share with the entire ZIGURAT community,” says Pau F. Aldomà, CEO of ZIGURAT.

Best BIM Master's: ZIGURAT remains No. 1 in Architecture

The ZIGURAT Master's in BIM Management once again tops the Architecture category in EL MUNDO's ranking of the best online master's programmes. Its first-place position in 2025 and 2026 reinforces its recognition as a leading option for professionals looking for the best BIM master's programme to advance towards project management and leadership roles.

Directed by Óscar Liébana, the programme prepares participants to manage information, coordinate teams and lead BIM implementation throughout the project life cycle. The curriculum integrates open standards, collaborative workflows and applied artificial intelligence, with a practical approach that connects learning with the challenges facing the industry.

The HVAC Master's retains second place in Energy

The Master's in HVAC with Energy Efficiency maintains second place in EL MUNDO's Energy ranking for 2026.

Directed by Diego Besada and Juan Manuel Rodríguez González, the programme trains professionals in the design, calculation and optimisation of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems. Energy efficiency, thermal comfort and indoor air quality are key pillars of a programme focused on practical application in buildings and industrial facilities.

Three consecutive years on EL MUNDO's podium

These renewed results extend a track record of recognition: in 2024, the BIM Management and HVAC programmes achieved second and third place, respectively. In 2025, they moved up to first and second place, positions they have now retained in 2026.

Three consecutive years on the podium and two years occupying first and second place reinforce ZIGURAT's track record in specialised education for architecture and engineering professionals. This recognition comes in the year of its 25th anniversary and highlights the work of an international academic community committed to the evolution of the industry.
