ZIGURAT and Hilti partner to advance digital skills in construction

ZIGURAT Institute of Technology and Hilti Netherlands, part of the Hilti Group, a global company specialising in technology, services and solutions for the construction industry, have signed a partnership to advance digital skills development in the sector and strengthen the link between specialised education and industry.

The collaboration aims to co-design corporate training pathways, deliver executive and technical upskilling programmes, and promote joint events and knowledge-sharing initiatives focused on addressing current skills gaps and long-term capability needs of construction organisations across Europe and other markets.

In a context marked by the rapid acceleration of digitalisation in architecture, engineering and construction, both organisations are committed to a collaboration that brings learning closer to professional practice and aligns training with real industry needs.

A shared mission: people, technology and transformation

Both organisations share a common purpose: improving construction through the combination of people, knowledge and technology. Hilti’s mission, “Making Construction Better”, focused on safer, more productive and more sustainable practices, aligns with ZIGURAT’s approach to training professionals with a practical, industry-connected perspective.

The partnership is built on a shared vision of a more efficient and safer construction sector, better prepared to integrate technology into decision-making and project delivery.

As Arjen Dijkhuis, Head of BIM Competence Center at Hilti, explains: “This partnership with Zigurat delivers more than training possibilities; it is a collaboration between education and industry built on strong synergies, where we work together to advance digital skills in a challenging European market. With Zigurat’s accredited BIM curriculum and Hilti’s extensive industry experience, supported by our BIM Competence Center, we jointly elevate talent and integrate digital technology directly into project execution and management, building a smarter, more efficient future to make construction better.”

For ZIGURAT, this agreement reinforces a strategic focus on connecting education with real-world challenges in architecture, engineering and construction, promoting programmes aligned with the evolution of the sector and the skills demanded by industry.

The collaboration will support the adoption of new technologies, improve the application of digital workflows, strengthen leadership capabilities for digital transformation, and contribute to talent retention through training. For professionals, it also provides access to accredited, practice-oriented learning pathways closely aligned with industry needs.

Through this partnership, ZIGURAT and Hilti move forward in a shared strategy focused on talent development, the practical application of knowledge and the digital transformation of the construction sector.
