Sergio Muñoz

Telecommunications Engineer from the Polytechnic University of Valencia since 2000, university from which he obtained the Diploma of Advanced Studies in 2005. Most of his professional career is linked to activities related to interoperability between agents, processes and applications. In addition, in recent years, he has been developing BIM consulting services, initially in the company Laurentia Technologies and currently in BIMandpartners. He currently holds the position of President of the buildingSMART Spanish Chapter. He has written a large number of articles on BIM methodology, as well as co-authoring several guides, such as the BIM Guide on Tenders of the Colegio de Ingenieros Técnicos de Obras Públicas and the BIM Guide for Technical Architecture of the Consejo General de la Arquitectura Técnica de España. He has collaborated in the development of the BIM Building Elements Catalog of the Instituto Valenciano de Edificación, so that the information can be exported in IFC format. He is responsible for the translation into Spanish of EN-ISO 19650 parts 1, 2, 3 and 5, as well as EN-ISO 16739: IFC. He also actively participates in different national and international working groups, such as buildingSMART International, the Technical Committee of the Interministerial BIM Commission, the Building the Future Commission of Catalonia or the UNE-CT41-SC13 standardization committee, of which he is currently the president.
