ZIGURAT Institute of Technology is participating in Digital Construction Week 2026 on 3 and 4 June, one of the UK’s leading events for technological innovation applied to the AECO sector. The event is taking place at ExCeL London and brings together professionals, companies and international experts involved in the digital transformation of architecture, engineering, construction and asset operation.
This year’s edition welcomes more than 9,000 attendees, over 150 exhibitors, more than 230 sessions and over 400 speakers, with a programme focused on the technologies that are transforming construction, from BIM, artificial intelligence and digital twins to robotics, automation and sustainable solutions.
Over the two days, ZIGURAT’s stand has become a meeting point for industry professionals to share knowledge, establish new connections with the sector and strengthen its international presence at one of Europe’s leading forums for digital construction.
One of the highlights of ZIGURAT’s participation was the session “Beyond BIM: AI, Digital Twins & Real-Time Delivery”, held on 3 June at the Information Management Stage. The panel featured Lilian Ho, Director at AECOM and Director of the Master’s in Artificial Intelligence for Architecture & Construction, and Vicki Reynolds, Technical Director in Digital Estates at One Creative Environments and Director of the Master’s in Global BIM Management.
The conversation addressed the evolution of BIM towards more connected ways of working, capable of integrating artificial intelligence, digital twins and real-time data across the design, construction and operation phases. The focus of the session was not only on the creation of digital models, but on how to turn them into live, useful and reliable systems throughout the asset lifecycle.
Drawing on examples and lessons learned from real projects, the speakers analysed how data from design models, construction platforms, sensors, planning tools and operational systems can be connected to support more accurate decision-making. The areas discussed included construction progress tracking, quality improvement, early risk identification and asset performance optimisation.

The session also addressed some of the challenges that continue to limit the effective adoption of these technologies in the AECO sector. These include data fragmentation, lack of integration between systems, information governance and the need for greater alignment between project teams and the teams responsible for asset operation.
In this context, the discussion underlined that the value of digitalisation does not depend solely on incorporating new tools, but on defining information requirements more clearly, clarifying responsibilities and building processes capable of maintaining the usefulness of digital models beyond project handover.
ZIGURAT’s participation in Digital Construction Week 2026 reinforces its connection with the main international debates on digital transformation in the AECO sector and consolidates its presence in spaces where new ways of designing, building and managing buildings and infrastructure are being defined.
