ZIGURAT incorporates ArcGIS software into its Master's in Civil Engineering

Categories

ZIGURAT Institute of Technology has signed a collaboration agreement with ESRI, the world’s leading company in geographic information systems (GIS), to integrate its professional software ArcGIS into the Master’s in Global BIM Management in Civil Engineering and GIS, available in Spanish, English, and Portuguese.

Thanks to this strategic partnership, students will have access throughout the course to official licenses of ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online, tools highly valued by top companies and institutions in the sector. This addition marks a step forward in the academic quality of the programme, positioning it as one of the most comprehensive master's degrees at the intersection of linear infrastructure, territorial planning and digital transformation.

Until now, the programme used QGIS as its main working tool. With ArcGIS, ZIGURAT now offers students cutting-edge technology that not only allows for map creation, but also enables spatial analysis, predictive modelling, urban planning, and strategic decision-making based on data. As stated by ESRI, “ArcGIS is used by 70% of the largest global companies, 95% of the largest national governments, and 80% of the largest cities.”

Exclusive licences and certification

From the next edition onwards, ZIGURAT will provide licences so that all students can access the professional software from the beginning of the course. ESRI will also take an active role in the training process through masterclasses, participation in events, and by contributing informative content to the programme’s introductory module.

Students who complete the master’s programme will also receive an official ESRI certification, enhancing their professional profile and employability in the sector.

"Incorporating ArcGIS reinforces our commitment to academic excellence and allows us to offer training that is more aligned with the tools demanded by the sector today," says Carmen Sánchez, Programme & Institutional Manager at ZIGURAT (pictured alongside Mirela Vladovic Zupcevic, lecturer on the Master'sin BIM Management in Civil Engineering and GIS at ZIGURAT, and Cristina Carrera, Team Leader - Utilities&AEC at ESRI Spain).

The use of this licence represents a significant added value for students, as it provides hands-on training with one of the most sought-after software tools in the market.
