For over twenty years, with big companies and small, Angela Shen-Hsieh has been pursuing forms of communication and information delivery that fascinate, inform and prompt people to think. An architect by training, Angela combines right-brained innovative thinking with a left-brain analytical approach to building new products. As the director of Telefonica Product Innovation, she and her team developed new lines of businesses leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning with Telefonica’s digitization and data. Angela was named a Fast Company ‘Master of Design’, and one of BusinessWeek’s “10 Cutting Edge Designers pushing the limits of design”. She holds six patents and has a BA from Columbia University in New York City and a Master in Architecture from Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Engineer and qualified in Supply Chain with 8 years of experience in Demand Planning and Customer Collaboration departments managing forecast, logistics, and delivery to cash processes. Oriented toward people and processes, always open to new challenges and lessons with the aim of providing continuous improvement to the business. She is currently involved in a data transformation project on forecasting based on machine learning and data management practices.

Jason Smith

Jason has worked in technology/data & AI for the previous 10 years either as a founder/CEO or senior executive. Work has included natural language processing, particularly around sentiment & emotion analysis; conversational AI; social physics; datasets, and a number of machine learning models. Jason was previously recognized by TechCityInsider as one of the top 200 tech entrepreneurs in the UK and was featured in The Memo and Forbes on using social sentiment to predict elections.
In addition, Jason has written and presented & produced 3 technology radio documentaries for BBC on social media/data (‘Being Social’); AI and its impact on our lives (‘Becoming Artificial’) and the use of social technology during the Covid pandemic (‘Going Viral’).

Ian Gardner

Industry 4.0 Solutions Architect

Ian has 25 years of consulting experience in large-scale, high complexity projects around ERP and integration. He has been part of the 5G Factory of the Future Testbed since its inception and is a member of the technical design authority.

Prior to this, he led a high-profile Innovate UK Industry 4.0 project called M4 to create the factory of the future which was a consortium led by Meggitt PLC, with IBM, the AMRC, and the MTC. This was the reference project in the UK government’s Made Smarter report. Ian has had many roles within IBM as a Solutions Architect, Global Project Manager and for many years, led the Oracle capability for IBM Global Business Services. In 2018, he was a finalist in the Times Management Consultancy Association (MCA) Awards.

Hark have developed a cloud platform and software technology that allow enterprises to easily connect to, monitor and intelligently control physical assets such as Building Management Systems, Energy Submeters, Industrial Process Automation controllers.

Jordan’s role at Hark has evolved over the years, from technical development with both software and hardware, to digital transformation consultancy with an emphasis on edge and cloud connectivity solutions for their customers. Today, he leads Hark’s strategic direction and work alongside our Fortune and FTSE customer base, advising on their technology and Industrial IoT strategies.


Faaiza Ramji

Entrepreneur, Marketer and Economic Development Specialist

Faaiza’s best work comes from finding meaningful connections between seemingly disparate ideas. Her past role in economic development had her rethinking how to shape a city’s image and reputation through the traditional, yet untapped channels of entrepreneurship, trade, and investment attraction.

On Purpose, her brand marketing firm based in Edmonton, Canada, keeps Faaiza in lock step with entrepreneurs, the lifeblood of any city, helping them operationalize their brands and deliver on the experience they want to provide their customers. She has recently launched Field Notes, the first company in North America to craft herbal liqueurs from distilled Canadian field peas.
