Bilal Dridi is an architectural engineer with over 15 years of experience in design management, project management, and BIM management. He has worked on the preservation of heritage buildings using 3D laser scanners such as FARO, LEICA, and TRIMBLE X7. He is an Autodesk Certified Professional (ACP), PMP Certified, a member of Can-BIM, editor of the Arabic BIM dictionary, MENA region representative for the Bricks Agile and BIM application, Trimble Connect ambassador, and a professional trainer. Additionally, he is a speaker at BIM-Arabia and holds a dual master’s degree in Global BIM Management from the University of Barcelona. He possesses extensive knowledge of BIM process implementation, workflows, and documentation, with a thorough understanding of the BS/PAS document sets from British standards and ISO 19650-1/2.
Currently, Bilal serves as a digital transformation leader at Bureau Veritas Middle East, where he drives innovative strategies in construction technology and digital transformation. He oversees the integration of BIM processes throughout project lifecycles, develops digital work plans, and creates templates and digital transformation protocols to guide the company’s services.
Among his notable projects, he successfully completed digital models for government buildings in Abu Dhabi, employing advanced technologies such as drones and laser scanners to capture complex details, particularly in MEP networks. He also led the creation of a digital twin for a refinery at the port of Fujairah, utilizing tools like Tekla Structure and Revit, along with the Trimble X9 laser scanner, ensuring precision and compliance with open BIM standards.
In addition to his hands-on experience, Bilal is deeply committed to education and knowledge dissemination in the field of digital transformation and BIM. He has participated as a speaker at international conferences, sharing his expertise and promoting the adoption of advanced technologies in the construction industry.
