Smart Cities Council and ZIGURAT join forces to promote sustainable urban environments

The two organisations will collaborate to foster smart city training, research and innovation.

ZIGURAT Institute of Technology and Smart Cities Council have announced a strategic alliance to encourage knowledge around smart cities.

The Smart Cities Council is a Social Impact Organisation founded in 2012 with team members globally and a direct and indirect network of around 400,000 Smart Cities practitioners and stakeholders.

"As an organisation with a core focus on building capability, capacity, and collaboration to create action and impact, Smart Cities Council places huge emphasis on education and training. We are constantly engaged in education via our micro-credentialing in Smart Cities Academy. We actively review the global education landscape for opportunities to build knowledge for our members, partners and the global Smart Cities community at large", said Corey Gray, Chair Smart Cities Council.

The partnership between ZIGURAT Institute of Technology and the Smart Cities Council will add value to ZIGURAT's Master's in Global Smart City Management and other related programmes, since it will go further in innovation and real projects.

"We firmly believe that the values of the Smart Cities Council align with the essence of ZIGURAT. For this reason, we have full confidence that this agreement will benefit our institutions, the communities involved, and the society as a whole', said Monalisa Martins, Architect and Institutional Engagement Manager in ZIGURAT.
