Project Management Institute or PMI, What Is It?

PMI is the leading global organization dedicated to project management. Founded in the U.S. in 1969, it brings together management and project management professionals from around the world through internationally recognized standards and certifications. The PMIs are organized into chapters with their own identity in the regions assigned to them. Today, the PMI has more than 250 chapters and communities of practice in 180 countries. By this time, it has more than half a million accredited and certified associates. Over the years it has become the most required and most important industry-recognized  certification for companies who are hiring professionals in the area of Project Management.
